About ESPA

ESPA (the European Stabiliser Producers Association) is a pan-European trade association representing more than 95% of the stabiliser industry across Europe. ESPA is an affiliated member of Cefic, the European Chemical Industry Council.

ESPA is a unique organisation representing four sub-groups:

  • ECOSA – Calcium-based stabilisers for food contact & medical applications, plus all lead replacement systems
  • ELISA – Liquid stabilisers used in a wide range of flexible PVC, calendered sheets, flooring
  • ETINSA – Tin stabilisers used primarily in rigid applications including food contact use
  • ELSA – Lead stabilisers mainly used in pipes and profiles

ESPA mission is to promote the use of stabiliser additives for vinyl applications and to provide a forum for the study and discussion of matters of scientific, technical, and environmental interest.

ESPA also cooperates with national and supranational organisations (EU, OECD, United Nations) and other industry associations, consumer organisations and non-governmental organisations and will carrying out joint projects of matters of technical, scientific and regulatory interests for stabilisers used in PVC.

ESPA is an active member of VinylPlus, the Voluntary Commitment of the European PVC industry towards sustainability.
