ESPA's mission
is to promote the use of stabiliser additives for PVC and other
applications and to provide a forum for the study and discussion
of matters of scientific, technical, and environmental interest.
The association
primarily has an advisory and informative role.
Our main tasks include:
developing
information on the sales of heat stabilisers in Europe
maintaining
a high level of technical understanding of stabiliser products
identifying
where environmental or toxicological research linked to stabiliser
use is needed
sponsoring
suitable research, where necessary
working
with the European scientific community and regulators to interpret
stabiliser research results.
We promote the role of stabilisers in conjunction with the world-wide
Organotin Environmental Programme Association (ORTEPA). We are
also part of a joint working group with the European
Council of Vinyl Manufacturers (ECVM) and the European Council
for Plasticisers and Intermediates (ECPI) to promote the use
of stabilisers and additives for PVC.
ESPA combines
the interests of four stabiliser industry branches:
The European
Lead Stabilisers Association - ELSA
The European
Liquid Stabilisers Association - ELISA.
The European
Tin Stabilisers Association - ETINSA
The European
Calcium Organic Stabilisers Association - ECOSA
