Applications

PVC pipe applications cover a larger variety of types for high and low-pressure systems from drinking to waste water, smooth large diameter to corrugated drainage pipes.
The most important pipe markets are:

• pipes for draining sewage and waste water
• high-pressure pipes for drinking water
• gutters and down-pipes for removal of rain water
• thin-wall, corrugated pipes for land drainage
• foam core pipes for non-pressure lightweight use
• conduit and duct pipes for protecting electrical cables
  

Stabiliser Requirements

To assume good processability for large diameters or high melt temperatures forming processes, i.e. for corrugated thin pipes, efficient heat stabilisers and lubricants are necessary.

Due to the long-term application (up to 100 years of service), the stabiliser systems used in pipes have to be tested thoroughly and guarantee the long-term performance. For special applications like drinking water pipes, additional restrictions according to national regulations apply in order to ensure safe drinking water distribution.
